“Hosting Congressman Pascrell at our facility was a terrific opportunity to demonstrate to him the impact Navy-Marine funding has on the skilled workforce in his district. He got to see what we are all about.

To my fellow suppliers, I highly recommend hosting a congressional facility tour. For minimal effort, it yields a substantial benefit.”

“Take it from me — a Navy-Marine rubber gasket supplier in the middle of Texas — the most effective way to get your Member of Congress and the media to take notice is to host a facility tour.

How did we make Navy-Marine Corps funding a priority for our Member of Congress? We invited her to our facility. We gave Congresswoman Granger safety glasses and a hard hat and showed her how our company contributes to America’s national security and the skilled jobs it brings to our district and state.

Hosting a one-hour tour is a small investment in terms of time and resources spent, but it achieves significant results both in terms of congressional engagement and earned media exposure.”

About the National Tour

The Navy League of the United States’ America’s Strength campaign has launched its Show Our Strength Tour. The tour is a celebration of companies – large and small – who contribute to the strength of the United States Navy-Marine Corps team by providing parts and products for aircraft, ships, weapons and equipment.

This is a national tour where suppliers host their Members of Congress to highlight the connection between funding for the U.S. Navy-Marine Corps team and the health of businesses and jobs in their districts.
